This presentation will explore the challenges related to competency restoration in the criminal justice system at all intercepts. Each intercept will be examined through the lens of competency—whether in terms of evaluation, treatment, or court procedures—highlighting how these challenges impact individuals with behavioral health issues and the system as a whole. The session will provide a comprehensive view of the interconnected issues across intercepts, discussing strategies to address competency at every stage and improve outcomes for individuals involved in the justice system.
